MIP Kits are Amazing

Each item in a MIP kit serves a purpose and is chosen with care and intention

Each MIP Kit nominee fills out a 9 page questionnaire about their interests and hobbies, where they select what area of wellness they wish to focus on.

Some of their choices? Mindful meditation to reduce stress and anxiety, breathing methods to cultivate calm and and control pain, journaling to encourage self awareness or even yoga and aromatherapy to lift moods and help quiet the mind. Having cancer is a time to learn ways to harness the power of the mind, the brain is after all, the most powerful organ in our body!

A MIP Kit is a Cancer Sucks (because, well it does) bag that includes a collection of items to alleviate stress, decrease anxiety, calm the mind, encourage wellness, and importantly, learn new techniques to turn pain into power. An AYA patient (adolescent or young adult) that is emotionally struggling with their cancer diagnosis can be nominated by their Oncologist, Child Life Specialist or Social Worker to receive a Kit.

Every MIP Kit is created to fit the patient that has been nominated. Literally, not one MIP Kit is the same. They shouldn’t be; everyone’s cancer journey is unique and so should their MIP Kit! With 100% positive feedback from our Hospital Partners, we know the kits are connecting and making a difference.

Each MIP Kit recipient decides what they feel would help them deal better with managing cancer. Is it training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts to where YOU want them to go? Is the goal is to improve sleep, cultivate calm, and control pain by mastering breathing? How about discovering more about who you are and what makes you tick?

Every teen and young adult truly is the Most Important Person on their cancer journey. Curious about how we make the perfect MIP Kit? Take a look at the Nomination Form!
